State of the City Address: A City in Action On March 4, 2026, Mayor Anders Ibsen delivered his first State of the City Address at the STAR Center in South Tacoma. The community gathered to enjoy local food from an on-site food trucks, connect with neighbors, and hear directly from the Mayor and City Council members. Residents arrived early between 5–6 p.m. to engage with Mayor Ibsen and Council members before the program officially began at 6 p.m. The address set an energetic tone for the new term, emphasizing bold decision-making, regional leadership, accountability, and delivering real results in service to our shared values.
